Chapter 1171
Daniel, who was protecting Tilly and Toby from the shadows after getting a call from Melanie, was stunned to see that.
He had been there from the start and saw the two kids arguing, but he didn't intervene because he didn't want to spoil their fun. He only planned to step in if things got dangerous.
When Yvette picked Tilly up, he made his move. However, he had barely taken two steps forward when Tilly suddenly fell to the ground. She started throwing a tantrum and rolling around, looking incredibly pitiful.
He could hardly believe his eyes. A four-year-old child was running circles around Yvette, a 20-year-old woman, and Yvette couldn't even fight back.
Not to mention, he was fully aware that Yvette hadn't hit Tilly. Tilly's eyes and arms were only swollen because she had secretly rubbed some kind of irritant on herself before beginning her award-worthy performance.
Since the two children were so lovable, Arthur immediately went over to help them as soon as he saw them. If Arthur knew they were his great-grandchildren, he would have fainted.
Actually, much like Shaun, Daniel initially thought that Tilly and Toby's father was another man. Olivia was the one who had excitedly told him the truth that day after he returned. That was when he found out that they were Lily and Loid's children and that Lily was just pretending to have lost her memory for some reason, which was why she had to act like she didn't know Loid.
Earlier, Melanie had called to tell him about her "precious darlings". Daniel thought they had yet to meet each other, but that didn't seem like the case anymore.
After Yvette was taken away by the police, Tilly got up from the ground and clapped her little hands. She then lowered her head to everyone watching. "Thank you, everyone, for helping us in the pursuit of justice. I'm very grateful to you. My love for all of you is like a coursing river."
Everyone was reeling from the overwhelming praise. Tilly, who had gotten exactly what she wanted, flashed a smirk.
She looked at Yvette, who was being taken away by the police, before taking her phone out and secretly typing something.
Then, there was a deafening explosion that left everyone stunned. All of them turned to stare at Yvette.
The explosion had left a massive hole in the ground in front of her. If she took just a few more steps forward, she would fall right into it.
Tilly let out a sigh. With a hidden meaning to her words, she exclaimed, "This is why we shouldn't do bad things, or karma will get you. Look! This is a perfect example."
When everyone heard that, they started whispering to each other.
"Wow! It's true! Did Yvette just get struck by lightning, or am I seeing things?"
"You're not. That was definitely a lightning strike. I saw something suddenly falling from the sky, and then there was a huge hole in the ground."
"That means we should just stick to being good people so that we can get good karma. God sees everything, you know. If you do something bad, he might just strike you with lightning. Dying isn't worth it."
After they were all done gossiping, they told Tilly and Toby to hurry up and go back before leaving as well.
When Hank saw his wife being taken away, he narrowed his eyes. In a cold voice, he told Tilly and Toby, "Go ahead and tell your parents to prepare for your funerals."
Toby raised his head. "You should be the one telling your parents that."
Hank glanced at him and left without saying anything. There were too many people around for him to make a move.
Once he was gone, Toby flicked his right pinky and sent a silver needle flying. It hit Hank right in the back of his head.
Toby sneered. In three days, Hank was going to die of a serious illness, and every attempt to save him would fail.
