Chapter 1920 Dillon The Demigod, The Fall Of The White Family
Electricity soon coursed through the entire Sword Cliff. While climbing up the cliff, there was lightning that struck the cliff, causing Dillon to twitch violently. His movements began to slow down as if everything had decelerated many times.
At that point, Dillon was already hanging on the cliff with his eyes closed. If it wasn’t for his hands moving upward slowly, Eldrian and Tyr would have thought that he had died.
The pain became more intense as Dillon got closer to the summit. The damage inflicted on his body by the cliff grew increasingly terrifying.
Tyr clenched his fists. He hadn’t closed his eyes in three days. Instead, he locked his gaze on Dillon for every waking second. In his heart, he was rooting for Dillon. ‘Dillon, you have to make it! Don’t give up! You must reach the peak!’
Time continued to pass. It had been seven days since Dillon’s trial began.
Rumble! The space was filled with terrifying, deafening thunder. It made Tyr jerk abruptly.
An unyielding figure stood on the other side of Sword Cliff. He grasped the blade of a sharp sword that was close to the cliff’s peak. His hands had been cut open by the blade. Blood continued to flow from his palms, dripping down his arms and mixing with the sweat that coated his body.
“Arghhh!”
Dillon, who hadn’t made a sound in days, let out a thunderous roar at this point. He released all of the pain and resentment he had been holding back for a week with that roar.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!
Dillon, who had continuously climbed up the cliff without stopping for breaks, suddenly flew and jumped to the cliff's pinnacle shortly after that.
“He made it!” Tyr walked over to Eldrian with his fists clenched. He exclaimed, “Wake up, Senior Eldrian! Dillon has reached the summit of the Sword Cliff.”
Eldrian awoke from his slumber. He made every effort to open his eyes. There was a light in his initial murky eyes when he saw Dillon, who was standing on the cliff and welcoming the baptism of thunder and lightning from the sky.
“He did it!” Eldrian’s body also trembled slightly.
Dillon stood proudly at the peak of the Sword Cliff. Countless icy swords flew around him and were fired at him one by one. His body was brimming with sword glow. He yelled thunderously, “I’m going to conquer the world with my sword and enter the Demigod realm!”
Crackle! Crackle!
The blade energy radiated from Dillon’s body and was shot freely into the air. It shattered those icy swords in the vicinity the next second. Dillon transformed himself into a sword. He ran after the white sword shadows that shot out from the cliff and quickly got engaged in a fight.
Those white sword shadows must be the sword techniques that were left behind on the cliff by the ancient Kendo God. Dillon had memorized those techniques after he reached the summit.
Rumble!
The cliff erupted in a loud explosion. The next thing that happened was an absolutely incredible scene. The cliff that was formed by hundreds of millions of sharp swords had collapsed. Numerous swords formed into a sword flood and spread out in all directions.
Tyr hurriedly used his tyrannical vitality energy to repel the approaching sword flood. Meanwhile, Eldrian sat cross-legged on the ground and dodged the impact of the sword flood thanks toTyr’s protection.
“Dillon has finally made it! My family has a successor!” Eldrian sighed out loud. He looked up at the sky with a faint smile playing on his lips.
“Senior Eldrian!” Tyr’s heart skipped a beat. When he checked on Eldrian again, the old man had lowered his head.
The mighty Demigod had perished at that instance. Eldrian had witnessed his descendant climbing up the cliff and breaking into the Demigod’s realm just before his fall. It was safe to say that he died without any regrets.
Even though it was the first time they meet, Tyr couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness and grief when he saw the old man pass away.
Dillon had taken a step forward to the other side of the collapsed cliff. With each step he took, a cold sword would fly to his soles. Thus, Dillon walked all the way to Tyr and Eldrian’s spot with the help of the swords.
When Dillon landed on the ground, the aura emanating from his body had reached the level where it was one with nature. He had evolved into a Demigod. His inner strength had transformed into vitality energy, so he could now control everything in the world like the way he manipulated his sword.
Dillon knelt on the ground with a loud thud and kowtowed three times in the direction of Eldrian’s body. “I have entered the Demigod realm through the art of kendo,” he announced to Tyr as he stood up.
“Congratulations!” Tyr said after nodding at Dillon. “What are you going to do after this?”
“I need to return to my roots,” Dillon said. “Eldrian has died, so I need to ship his body back home and bury him in the White Clan Memorial Park.”
Once a Demigod had fallen, it was difficult for the Creed under the Demigod’s protection in the ancient martial arts world to return their remains to their family for burial purposes.
Demigods were the backbone of a clan. Their existence also symbolized the clan’s prosperity and glory. When the outside world learned that their Demigod has fallen, it would attract the attention of a slew of people who coveted their wealth. The family would then face a major crisis.
Hence, those Demigods who died outside would keep their deaths hidden from the rest of the world. It was so that the world would continue to be terrified of the Demigods’ power and would never attack their clans hastily.
Eldrian’s death meant that the White family’s pillar was destroyed. Once the outside world learned of this, his family would be in grave danger. Thankfully, Dillon had attained the status of Demigod. With the new successor, there was no need for the clan to worry about those things.
“Are you sure it’s a good idea to announce the news to the world?” Tyr asked.
“It’s fine. The fall of Eldrian is a great misfortune to my family,” Dillon said as he picked up Eldrian’s body. “It is the law of nature for the young to replace the old. Let’s go.”
They left the Sword Cliff and returned to the large ship docked on the sea. After that, they spent several days traveling back to the Celestial Empire. Then, they set sail to Fern City and returned to the White manor.
Tyr had informed Olympias in advance of their return and notified her that they were going to return Eldrian’s body to her family. Olympias had begun gathering her family members to hold Eldrian’s funeral after receiving the news.
The loss of a Demigod was a massive blow to the clan. Dillon’s family was completely unaware that he had entered the Demigod realm. The family was not only tormented by grief, but they were also sick with anxiety.
The truth would come out eventually. Before Tyr and Dillon returned Eldrian’s body to the family, the community’s major forces had received word of the demise of the White family’s Demigod.
