Chapter 1926 The Evil Forces
Olympias also fell silent for a long time. Finally, she took a deep breath and replied, “Back then, I lived in a war-torn country and was under the reign of terror for a very long time. I was constantly afraid for my life, and didn’t encounter anything that could warm my heart.
“Later, I met those people from Regal Palace. I met Boss, Jim, Clifford, Juan, and White-eyed Ivory Dragon, not to mention there were so many more. I have many brothers with whom I’d go through hell with. We founded Regal Palace, vowing to stand by each other no matter what. They taught me that there are genuine feelings in the world.
“Grandpa, you may not like what I’m about to say, but I have to tell you that despite our family’s blood ties, I still view Regal Palace as my true home."
Olympias not only spoke from her heart, but she also expressed Jim and Tyr’s heartfelt wishes.
Every single person in the Regal Palace had a tragic past. They grew up and were reborn in despair. Eventually, they gathered at Regal Palace and started a family together. It was impossible for anyone in this world to part from this organization, nor was it possible for any member to leave.
Being the matriarch of the White family would give Olympias a great deal of power, but she didn’t care about that. Her only desire was to spend time with her brothers. That was all.
“Hahaha!” Regis laughed out loud. A glint of bitterness glistened in his eyes as he laughed.
“A girl must be married into another family when she comes of age!” he remarked with a sigh.
Then, he turned around and stared at Jim. He said, “Boy, I’ll hand my precious granddaughter to you. You can’t bully her in the future. Otherwise, I won’t spare you even regardless of who you are, be it a Demigod, the Lord of the Red Tower, or the legendary existence behind Dragun Squad.” Regis made his stance clear on the spot.
Jim smiled and nodded to Regis. He promised, “I will never do that!”
Tyr and Jim stayed at the manor for another day before departing to Komodo Island. Now that Jim and Olympias had finally returned to Komodo Island, the members of the Regal Palace were reunited once and for all.
That night, the entire organization got together to party. They drank the entire night away.
Tyr was fast asleep during the next dawn, still heavily hungover. A phone call from Jim jolted him awake.
“What the hell, Old Zab? I just fell asleep!.” Tyr hissed as he rubbed his eyes blearily. There was a hint of irritation directed at the offending Demigod in his tone.
Jim’s serious voice drifted from the other end of the line. “Boss, we’re out of time!” he warned. “I need to visit the Dragon Palace now. I have something very important to tell you before I leave.”
Tyr jumped out of his bed immediately. “Is there another strange occurrence in the Dragon Palace?” he inquired.
“Not exactly. I need you to meet me at my house right now.”
“All right!” Tyr dressed hurriedly and dashed over to Jim and Olympias’ house.
Jim was already dressed and seated in his wheelchair. Olympias embraced the opportunity to play the good wife, having already made grits and pancakes in the kitchen.
Tyr was greeted with a freshly prepared breakfast on the table.
“Wow! Miss White has undergone quite a significant transformation. She used to play with bombs and grenades, but she’s now playing with the kitchen appliances to make grits and pancakes!” Tyr said teasingly the moment he stepped into the house.
Olympias was annoyed by Tyr’s words. She almost threw a pot of boiling grits at Tyr, but she resisted the urge after remembering how difficult it was for her to get up early in the morning to prepare a meal. Rather, she grabbed a pancake and hurled it in his direction.
Tyr grabbed the pancake. “It’s a little brittle and bland. You should do better next time,” he said after taking a bite out of it.
“Why don’t you just choke to death? Don’t eat it if you have so many complaints,” Olympias replied agitatedly.
“I’m not picky with my food,” Tyr chuckled.
“Old Zab, why are you calling me in such a hurry?” he asked as he sat down at the table.
Jim placed the Nostro compass on the table and gently caressed it. The relic suddenly lit up and began to display a slew of runes that Tyr failed to comprehend. A dazzling beam of light appeared at a specific point on the Nostro compass.
“What does this mean?” Tyr couldn’t understand what Nostro compass meant, prompting him to ask that question.
Jim appeared to be very serious. “Boss, have you seen this beam of light?” he inquired solemnly.
“Yes, I have..” Tyr nodded.
“There is a black spot in the light,” Jim explained. “The compass is capable of manifesting everything that exists between heaven and earth, and it represents our entire world. This beam of light represents power, one of the world’s most powerful and terrifying evil forces.”
Jim’s facial expression became solemn when he said this. Aside from that, he was very concerned.
“Old Zab, what the hell is going on with this evil beam of light that you’re talking about?” Tyr asked, becoming more serious.
“This position is in the arctic,” Jim said while pointing to the location of that beam of light. “This place is the area where glaciers are formed. Something seems to be sealed there. There appears to be an outside force attempting to break the seal. Whatever’s sealed in this place is capable of destroying our world.”
“It can destroy our world? What kind of power does that equate to?” Tyr asked, his heart skipping a beat.
“It’s a power that’s capable of turning our world upside down. Master Maxime has foreseen the evil force long before. Worried sick by that future, he began to lay out plans of his own,” Jim explained. “You are the key to this plan.”
“Are you talking about the five magic books?”
“Bingo! Collecting all five books allows the user to become a God,” Jim replied with a nod. “This legend may sound unreal, but Boss, you already have two books. In return, your combat abilities are greatly enhanced. Because of you, this legend is starting to be more realistic.
“Master had predicted that our world would face a catastrophe in the future. Now that he’s gone, the burden will naturally fall on us. I have the Nostro compass with me, and the relic will guide us by foreseeing the disaster.
“I’m still having difficulty seeing through it. Boss, you must collect all five books as soon as possible to prevent further accidents. Whether this catastrophe will befall us or not, we’ll still have more life-saving methods in our hands.”
“Hmm… Based on what you said, the burden on my shoulders is getting heavier and heavier,” Tyr said with a heavy nod. “I didn’t have such lofty goals as saving the world, but it appears that I have taken a path of no return.”
