Chapter 1934 Vacate The Battlefield

“What?” Emmett appeared to have realized something. He didn’t have time to explain anything to Tyr before dashing toward the door. Many members of the Liberated had gathered at the manor’s gate at this time. Their burning rage was so intensifying that it could shoot into the sky like a laser. There were several corpses scattered on the ground in front of the gate. These corpses were horrifying to look at. Many of their body parts had been mutilated. These bodies were senior executives held captive by Gideon previously. Emmett’s son was among them. “Nash!” Emmett rushed out of the crowd. He finally lost it when he saw his son’s corpse. Nash’s corpse was gruesome to look at. Many parts of his body had turned into paste of fluids and flesh. Even after his death, he wore an apparent expression of horror on his face. Nash must have been subjected to a great deal of torture and injuries during his lifetime. Therefore, his face was still filled with horror after he died. The Jackals were responsible for this. Tyr couldn’t help but inhale sharply when he walked out and saw the scene unfold before his eyes. The Jackals was definitely an inhuman bunch. “Master, there’s a letter!” A senior executive pulled out a letter from another corpse’s hand and handed it to Emmett. Emmett suppressed the grief of his son’s death the best he could as he opened the letter with trembling hands. There were only two lines of hand-written sentences, written in a slanting manner. “At dusk today, I will personally come to send you to hell! Signed by Gideon.” Emmett held the letter in his hand tightly with reddened eyes. Tyr walked up to him and said, “I’m sorry for your loss.” Emmett rose to his feet and turned to face Tyr, who stood beside him. He then handed Tyr the letter he was holding. He said, “Mr. Summers, Gideon will be arriving at dusk!” A glimmer of horror flashed through the eyes of the crowd as soon as these words were spoken. Their cowardice was not to be blamed. After all, the terror of Gideon’s previous demonstrations was too influential. It had loomed in their hearts until now. Tyr appeared to be the most composed at the scene. He took the letter in his hands. The look in his eyes was emotionless like the water in an ancient well. “Initially, I intended to go to him. I wasn’t expecting him to show up by himself.” Tyr sneered and urged, “Let’s deal with the deceased first. Aside from that, notify everyone and ask them to leave the manor.” Emmett asked worriedly, “Mr. Summers, Gideon is very powerful! What will happen to you if I ask everyone to leave?” “Are you worried that I won’t be able to handle Gideon?” Tyr interrupted Emmett with his question. Emmett appeared a little embarrassed. He replied, “Mr. Summers, I didn’t mean that. It’s just that the fate of our entire organization hangs on this, so. . .” “You can prepare 10,000 people here, but it will be in vain against a Demigod.” Tyr didn’t bother to explain too much to Emmett. After telling him this, he turned around and entered the building in the grounds, which Emmett had arranged for him to get some rest. Someone had begun to deal with the corpses at the gate after Tyr left. A group of senior executives had Emmett surrounded at the same time. One of them wondered aloud, “Mr. Summers intends to deal with Gideon on his own here. Master, how confident are you that he’ll win the fight?” “I have no idea,” Emmett replied. “Mr. Summers is incredible, but we have never seen him fight in person. Having seen Gideon’s methods, however, I’m not sure whether Tyr is a match for him.” Another senior executive added, “Tyr, on the other hand, is oozing with confidence. There shouldn’t be any issues.” “Who knows if that’s arrogance or confidence? He is a Demigod! Every Demigod is conceited about himself,” someone else said. A senior executive proposed, “Tyr is right. Even if we were to prepare 10,000 people in advance, it won’t make any difference before a Demigod. You’ve seen it before when Gideon launched an attack and destroyed a branch in a matter of seconds.” “I wonder if we can ambush Gideon with a group of snipers? They can shoot when necessary, and they can assist Mr. Summers in dealing with Emmett.” “It’s in your best interests not to do it!” An old man in a white traditional suit emerged from the crowd. He sported silver hair and a beard. He appeared to be in his eighties, but he still looked dashing. He gave off the impression of being very spirited and energetic. “Senior Ezer!” Many of those present took the initiative to greet the old man as he emerged from the crowd. Ezer was his name. He was a top powerhouse for the Liberated. Years ago, he was a Transformation, and his power had progressed to the intermediate stage of Transformation. Back when the Jackals didn’t have a Demigod, the Transformation warriors were the top combat power on both sides, thus maintaining the balance. Unfortunately, the balance had been broken now that a Demigod appeared within the Jackals’ ranks. The previous top-tier combat power of Transformation had become insufficient to deal with the current situation. “Senior Ezer, what do you mean by that?” the senior executive who came up with the idea asked. “All of you have no idea what the ancient martial arts world is like, let alone what a battle between Demigods means,” Ezer replied. His eyes showed a trace of longing at this point. He yearned for the Demigod’s realm, which was the world’s top combat power. “The Demigods are almighty,” he explained. “They are capable of toppling mountains and overturning seas. The war between Demigods is comparable to that between Gods. They are impervious to any external force. Not even a sniper rifle and a rocket launcher can break through their aura. “We shouldn’t get involved in the battle between Demigods. Otherwise, it will backfire and turn into interference for them. It’d be great if Gideon is the one being obstructed. However, if Tyr is the one who is being affected, that means we are shooting ourselves in the foot. It will be a devastating blow to us if Tyr were to be defeated.” At this point, everyone present was aware of the seriousness of the situation. They didn’t dare come up with other ideas rashly. “Senior Ezer, do we have to leave the manor as soon as possible?” “Yes, we must withdraw right away. The battle between the Demigods will have a huge impact on everything,” Ezer replied. “It has the potential to affect a large area with a radius of several kilometers. Not only do we need to withdraw, but also the civilians who live nearby have to leave with us too.” “There isn’t much time left for us,” he continued while looking at the sun in the sky. “Fortunately, there aren’t many civilian residences close to our manor. People who live close to us are our own people. I’ll make an announcement right away. Everyone must leave this location within three hours. If any of them were to disobey the order, they will face legal consequences under family law. “We need to make room for Mr. Summers at dusk today. We must provide him with a perfect battle environment that he needs not to worry about.”
