Chapter 1935 He Is Here
“All right!” Emmett didn’t dare to hesitate any longer at this point.
He instructed his staff to make arrangements to evacuate civilians living near the Liberated’s headquarters to make way for the upcoming battle between the Demigods. Everyone living near the manor was evacuated at around three o’clock in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Emmett and his senior executives had moved to a building that was four kilometers away. These people were staring nervously at a large screen on the wall in front of them in a very ordinary-looking room.
The image displayed on this screen was the footage captured by the surveillance cameras in the manor. Gideon had not arrived, so the scene was empty. However, a thick layer of dark clouds had engulfed the entire sky above the manor.
Everyone was deeply worried, including Ezer. None of them was absolutely certain that Tyr could defeat Gideon. After all, this fight was closely related to the fate of the Liberated.
As the minutes ticked away, the surveillance screen had been switched to the second floor of a building in the manor.
There was an open-air garden that was planted with all sorts of exotic flowers and plants here. In the middle of the garden, there was a lounge chair. Tyr was seen sitting on this chair as he enjoyed his tea. He appeared calm and composed in general.
There would be a Demigod who would appear to challenge him to a fight, but he didn’t seem to take this matter to heart at all. Tyr refilled his cup after downing his tea. He later fell asleep with his eyes closed on the lounge chair.
It was unclear how much time had passed, but the sky had begun to darken, and the weather had changed. Raindrops fell silently from the sky as night gradually fell.
A raindrop fell from the sky and landed on Tyr’s tip of the nose. Tyr, who had been sleeping with his eyes closed, immediately opened them and stood up.
“He’s here.”
Tyr stood up and walked over to the garden’s edge. He gazed into the distance in the dark. He didn’t spot anyone headed his way, but the terrifying aura that emanated from his rival had come at him from a few kilometers away.
“That’s the aura of a powerful warrior!” Tyr closed his eyes and took a deep breath. A strange smile was played on his lips.
Meanwhile, Emmett and his senior executives felt a sudden pressure from the sky that made it difficult for them to breathe despite the four kilometer distance that was put between them and the battleground.
A drop of cold sweat rolled down from Emmett’s forehead. He felt as if a wild beast was standing behind him and breathing down his neck.
“He’s here!” Ezer, who was seated in the corner, jumped to his feet and exclaimed. “That Demigod has arrived! Hurry up and switch the camera! Show me where that guy is now!”
Someone picked up the remote control right away and kept on switching the monitoring camera. The image on the screen was constantly changing. Soon, Gideon was finally caught on camera. He could be seen standing on a driveway.
“Zoom in! Zoom in quickly! That’s Gideon! I want every surveillance camera to keep a close eye on him. Aside from that, get the surveillance footage of Tyr for me! Chop chop!”
Emmett wiped a drop of cold sweat from his brow and continued to issue orders to his subordinates. This was the fight that would decide the fate of the Liberated as well as everyone’s survival after tonight. They must watch the entire fight with their own eyes no matter what.
The focus quickly shifted to Gideon and Tyr respectively. The entire screen was also split in half, displaying their movements at the same time.
The two pictures eventually merged into one as Gideon got closer to the manor. Their figures were also visible in the same picture. The sky had completely darkened by then. One by one, the street lights in the area were turned on. At the same time, the rain that poured down from the sky became heavier.
On the road outside the manor, Gideon was seen in black clothe. The rain had drenched his hair as well. He looked like a devil as he stepped on the water puddles and walked in the direction of the manor.
He wasn’t in any rush. His face had an evil expression on it. It was the kind of malice that made people’s scalps prickle.
“Is there no one here?” Gideon sensed the atmosphere on the property as he entered the manor. He detected the absence of living beings around him from the moment he stepped into the street.
He did, however, sense an extremely powerful aura emanating from the manor’s innermost parts, which rushed at him head-on. It made him feel a sort of pressure that he hadn’t felt in a long time.
“The people of the Liberated are such cowards! Thankfully, they’ve prepared an incredible prey for me tonight. I’m interested in seeing who’s willing to assist them in their fight against the Jackals!”
Gideon had arrived at the manor’s main gate. In front of him stood a massive iron gate. It was neither opened nor locked. He paused in front of the iron gate while peering inside. He didn’t reach for the iron gate. Instead, he launched a punch into the air.
His punch shattered the massive iron gate with a loud bang. Next to him, a hole was blasted out of the wall at a height of seven or eight meters. Gideon’s arrival was announced with a thunderbolt-like punch.
Tyr, who was standing on the second floor near the garden's edge, witnessed the scene firsthand. He remained expressionless.
An arrogant voice sounded at that moment. “I’m Gideon Banks, the Demigod of the Jackals. I’ve come here to fight you. Celestial Empire’s Dragun Squad! Those who dare to intervene in the affairs of the Jackals and the Liberated will be sentenced to death!”
“What a big mouth!” Tyr narrowed his eyes as he chided.
The distance between them was nearly 200 meters. Gideon did not continue marching forward after he entered the door. Instead, he came to a halt. The two exchanged glances across the distance while being shrouded by the night.
“The Liberated and the Jackals both originated from the Celestial Empire. When you’re living abroad, you should look out for each other. I didn't expect the Jackals to commit injustice by slaughtering the Liberated. It is impossible for Dragun Squad to remain silent in this situation.”
“You don’t have to give me these grandiose speeches,” Gideon sneered back in response. “This is a world ruled by the law of the jungle! The big fish eat the small ones! Only the strong is respected!”
Gideon clenched his right fist and smashed at Tyr instantly.
Boom! The shadow of a fist broke through the night sky and blasted toward Tyr.
“It has begun!”
