Chapter 1944 Seek A Small Gain While Ignore A Greater Danger
When the Grand Priest returned his gaze to Tyr, he felt helpless and furious. The young man in his thirties was truly terrifying!
His heart was filled with despair. How could he ever go against Tyr like this? What on earth gave him the courage to try to rob Tyr of his books? He’d be considered extremely lucky if he could flee successfully with his life intact!
“Stop him!” A thunderous roar erupted from the Grand Priest. He quickly turned around and fled, but those agents were unable to react in time.
Tyr intended to pursue him, but those agents finally stepped in to intervene in attempt to stop him. They had complete faith in the Grand Priest, after all. In their opinion, the Grand Priest was their god, so they would strictly follow his orders.
How could these agents be a match for Tyr even if they were top-notch Transformation warriors?
Tyr casually launched some attacks, each of which resulted in the death of an agent. In a matter of seconds, these agents were slaughtered.
Though these agents were killed in a matter of seconds, they bought the Grand Priest some time to flee.
Tyr was not in a hurry despite noticing that the Grand Priest had fled hundreds of meters. It was the same situation when he was chasing Gideon before. Tyr implemented Nine Steps to Disorientation, causing him to vanish on the spot and started chasing after the Grand Priest.
“You are a disgusting fly, Grand Priest! Well, since you’ve shown up numerous times to annoy me, I’ll help you out by wiping you from the face of this planet tonight!” Tyr was able to catch up to him quickly. He aimed a slap at the Grand Priest. A terrifying surge of vitality energy slammed into his enemy at that moment.
The Grand Priest flew out as a result. He abruptly turned around and summoned a massive black phantom to serve as his shield.
The black phantom, which was a dozen meters tall, made a threatening gesture as if it was a demon that was released from hell.
The Grand Priest attempted to use the phantom to attack Tyr, but it was shattered by Tyr’s punch. The former quickly burned through his innate energy by manifesting it into a black Lernean Hydra to bite Tyr out of desperation.
“A Lernean Hydra?” Tyr felt a wave of oppression wash over him.
As the enormous Lernean Hydra launched an attack on Tyr, it let out a roar. Tyr drew out the Celestial Blade and smashed several snakeheads one after another. Although the beast was vulnerable before Tyr, it gave the Grand Priest plenty of time to flee.
The Grand Priest had already dashed hundreds of meters at this point. He suffered from serious injuries after manifesting the Lernean Hydra to the point where he was barely alive.
At the moment, he didn’t have the energy to care about a lot of things. Only one thought occupied his mind, and that was to flee. No matter what, he couldn’t allow Tyr to catch up to him.
“Do you think you can escape?” With a slash, Tyr hacked the Lernean Hydra into pieces.
He suddenly sensed several powerful auras around him. Those auras were constantly moving toward the manor just as he wanted to pursue and kill the Grand Priest.
“D*mn it!” Tyr’s heart suddenly sank. He had no desire to pursue Grand Priest, but he abruptly turned around and dashed toward the manor.
One after the other, several figures appeared at the manor’s gate. These people were shielded by an energy barrier so thick that it was impossible to tell their gender or age with the naked eye.
There were three figures in total. When they meet, they just exchange glances as if they were tacitly aware of each other’s purpose. Those figures then dashed toward the mountain behind the manor at breakneck speed.
The night wind howled. The trio moved with the grace of thieves. When they reached the bottom of the mountain, they came to a complete stop and looked up at the cave located halfway up the mountain.
After that, a vitality energy vortex converged beneath their feet. The trio then leaped in the direction of the cave.
All three of them were Demigods.
Without a qualm, these Demigods must have received the news that Tyr was going to fight Frode here. The purpose of their visit was the same as that of the Grand Priest. They wanted to take advantage of Tyr and Frode’s situation to gain an advantage for themselves.
The trio soon arrived at the cave. A blade glow shot from afar just as they were about to rush into the cave to pick up the book. It slashed through the night sky, sweeping a terrifying force toward them.
All three of them were subjected to extremely oppressive forces. When the blade glow was blasted at them, they all spread out into the area.
The cave was split apart by that blade’s glow. A loud bang was heard, followed by the rise of a black light pillar into the sky. A black book was seen flying into the sky while trapped in the pillar.
“The Glinting Tome!”
The trio spread in the area soared into the air as soon as they saw this book. Tyr appeared at the crucial moment with his body surrounded by the golden runes. He turned into a stream of light as he rushed up to the tome.
All four Demigods dashed to the tome simultaneously. Four waves of terrifying vitality energies intertwined and exploded in the air.
Those figures were blasted to the foot of the mountain when the energy dissipated. Tyr grabbed the tome and flew to the summit of the mountain.
“I almost overlooked a greater danger in pursuit of a small gain! The tome is mine! If you aren’t afraid of death, come and get it from me!” Tyr’s commanding voice echoed across the night sky.
Those three Demigods that stood at the foot of the mountain looked up at Tyr, who stood on the summit. Their faces lit up with surprise, mirroring the Grand Priest’s expression that was filled with surprise mere minutes ago.
Tyr and Frode were clearly fighting for their lives earlier that night. The former could not avoid being injured even if he was stronger than Frode. More importantly, this was a battle between Demigods, and Tyr’s vitality energy had to be depleted significantly. Why was it that this man still appear to be in his prime?
“He must have taken some elixir! I doubt his strength can be replenished at all times!” One of the Demigods refused to be led astray by fallacies. He dashed toward the summit, hell-bent on challenging Tyr. The latter, on the other hand, had struck long before he arrived at the mountain peak.
Tyr’s tactics were so oppressive that this Demigod couldn't last three moves before being blasted from the summit.
“Those who aren’t afraid of death, come up now!” Tyr held the tome in one hand and the Celestial Blade in the other. His tone remained tyrannical and mighty.
The trio no longer dared act rashly after witnessing the scene.
Tyr’s track record was far too impressive. He used to kill a few veteran Demigods in a row. Not only did he kill two Demigods from the Jackals in succession, but he also severely injured Kamikakushi’s Grand Priest moments later. Based on his stature, he must have been one of the most powerful Demigods.
Even if they banded together, they might not be a match for Tyr. Furthermore, they were not members of the same group, and it was challenging for them to cooperate tacitly, especially when they prioritized their own agenda. Even if they banded together for the time being, it would still be difficult for them to defeat Tyr.
