The next day, the company went into a frenzy when Lyla arrived. Everyone had gained a new understanding of her work abilities. Lyla had been able to immediately settle the case that M.K. Corporation had shelved, and she had come out of it unscathed. “Lyla, I admire you so much!” Lily said as she held Lyla’s hands. “You’re literally a goddess in my heart!” “You’re not only beautiful but also capable,” a male colleague also said with a smile. “Why? In these five years, there had never been passion in their relationship. Sometimes they seemed like a couple, but sometimes not. As their relationship dragged on, she felt as though something was missing. Kathleen had always been the one to make a move while Mark remained indifferent. She poured some tea into a cup and placed it on Mark's desk. She purposely revealed her breasts to Mark as a grand invitation to him. "Mark, have a cup of tea." Kathleen then held the cup of tea and passed it to Mark. Mark did not even raise his head. "Put it there first." Kathleen instantly felt dejected. How were they a couple? They seemed no more than strangers. She heard that when Lyla went to get the contract signed yesterday, Mark had gone along too. According to Mr. Perkins, Lyla even claimed Mark as her boyfriend!
