Chapter 379 Not Now But Later
In the following minutes.
Amanda really spent time with Neil in the hotel.
However, Amanda had more than second thoughts because this man could not keep his hands to himself.
Sure, the man said that he would keep his hands off, but it did not mean that he would hold back on the chops.
Amanda had a feeling as though he was going to eat her up.
“Uh, stop it...” Amanda looked at him and murmured under her breath.
“What am I to do? Oh, how I long for you,” Neil whispered in her ear.
“It amazes me how you’re able to hold it in,” Amanda replied.
Neil planted a kiss on her lips. “I don’t want to sleep with you under such circumstances. I want our first time to be in a meaningful place.”
Amanda was dumbstruck by the mention. “What do you mean?”
“What do you mean what do I mean?”
“Didn’t I... with you before...”
Raising a brow, Neil realized he had a slip of the tongue moment.
His expression left Amanda all the more perplexed. She got up and stared at him. “What are you trying to say?”
Falling back into bed, Neil chuckled. “Nothing...”
“There’s definitely something. What are you referring to by ‘our first time’?”
His practice of silence only made Amanda guess more. “Are you saying that nothing happened the last time?”
Neil ruffled her hair. “Oh, silly girl, and you only found out now?”
Amanda was this close to losing it following his reply. “It has never been so?”
“Silly, you’re a woman. You would’ve felt something in that retrospect.” Neil gazed at her with smiling eyes. The innocent and adorkable look on her face was simply too adorable.
“How would I know? It’s not an experience I’ve been through!” Amanda snapped back before grabbing his clothes by the pecs. “You liar! You lied to me!”
Neil’s mind lingered on the statement of her non-experience. He then pulled Amanda into his arms. “Really? You haven’t?”
Amanda turned blush red. “As far I know, no... Anyway, I don’t remember the past. I wouldn’t know if it happened before.”
It took a while before Neil let go of her but still kept his eyes on her. “What am I to do? I really want to sleep with you now.”
Amanda immediately placed her arms over her chest out of fright. “No!”
Neil could not help but laugh at her cute reaction.
“I’m being serious here.” Amanda pouted her lips and puffed her cheeks with widened eyes.
“Okay, I won’t sleep with you.”
“Really?”
“Uh-huh.” Neil held her and waited until Amanda let her guard down before mumbling in her ear.
“Not now but later.”
Amanda, “...”
Although she wanted to call him out on being a pervert, for some reason, Amanda felt sweetness sink in.
This must be called being in love.
She resisted against Neil before, yet Amanda was fully aware that it was not feelings of resistance but fear.
Amanda dared not have a relationship with him because he gave her a familiar yet strange feeling. Nevertheless, since they were together, the sweetness simply overwhelmed her heart.
With this in mind, her lips curled into a lovely smile. Closing her eyes, she let Neil be as the latter embraced her.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Lyla stood on a balcony while Mark came up from behind and hugged her.
“How are you feeling? Are you cold?”
Lyla shook her head. “No, I’m not.”
The pair stared into a distance, having something on their mind.
“Say, what do you think Neil and Amanda are doing right now?” Lyla asked out of curiosity.
Mark drew close and kissed her on the lips. “Something like this...”
Lyla took a glance at him. Her eyes were all smiles as she fixed her gaze afar.
“Mark...”
“Yes?”
“Do you think we will be like this forever?”
“Of course.”
“Will we always be this happy?” Lyla enquired.
She rarely asked such clingy questions, but the words that came out of her mouth did not feel lame, rather it was quite a different feeling.
Mark looked into her eyes. “I can’t guarantee that we would still have the hots for each other in ten or twenty years, but I can assure you that I will always be good to you. My heart and body are yours to keep.”
Turning her head back, Lyla stared intently at him before turning around to give him a tight squeeze.
Mark smiled. “Perhaps instead of love, our relationship becomes more like a family ten or twenty years later, but I still hope to grow old with you, hand in hand.”
Lyla tightened her arms around him.
Girls were most fond of hearing promises of forever love, but this was not the case for Lyla. To a matured woman, she was aware that these were only feelings let out at the moment. Mark, on the other hand, gave his words of a lifetime’s inseparableness.
The passion may soon cease, and love may wear down through time, but the relationship between them had reached an indissoluble stage.
Feeling touched, Lyla buried her head against his neck.
Since bearing a child, she had become rather sensitive. Mark was clear that she would be moved. With downcast eyes, he fixated on her. “It’s a rare moment that we’re alone. Shouldn’t we cherish the time ahead?”
“Huh?” Lyla lifted her eyes to meet his.
Without another word, Mark swiftly lifted her.
Looking into each other’s eyes, love was evident in sight. Mark carried her to the room...
...
Two days later.
Neil and Amanda had just arrived at the door when Mark and Lyla made it to the hotel soon after.
“I thought you guys would never leave,” Neil commented. With a girlfriend in hand, he spoke with such confidence.
Mark swept a glance at him. “Don’t speak like you’re eager to see me. Are you wishing for me to stay?”
“I said nothing of the sort.”
“But that’s what you’re thinking.”
Neil grinned. “In that case, why are you still here?”
“I’m not leaving because of that fact.”
“You—”
The boys were known to cross swords upon encounter.
Mark then whispered a word or two in his ear. Neil held his tongue after hearing what he had to say.
Mark took a glance at him before hopping into a car with a smile.
Lyla got into the car as well. Amanda quietly approached Neil and spoke into his ear in hushed tones. “Why are you quiet? What did he say to you?”
Neil turned back and took a look at her before helplessly sighing. “Who else in the world would I yield to but you?”
Leaving these vague words, he got into the car.
Amanda stood there in a daze. Were they talking about her then?
Although she had no idea what their conversation was about, Neil’s words did make her happy and enthusiastic.
Smiling secretly to herself, she hopped into the car as well.
...
On the plane, Amanda switched seats with Mark to sit next to Lyla.
Holding onto her arm, Amanda nestled her head against Lyla’s shoulder.
Lyla curled her lips to see Amanda cuddling up against her. “You’re in a good mood.”
“You think so?”
“How were the last two days?”
Speaking of this, Amanda blushed in her cheeks. “Pretty good. You know, just the same old.”
Amanda averted her gaze away out of guilt.
“How are you with Neil?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She lowered her head.
“I guess you’re not planning to let me know, huh.”
“No.” Turning her attention back to Lyla, Amanda blurted, “Oh, I’ll tell you. We’re together now.” She was basically mumbling in a hushed tone by the end of the sentence.
“What did you say? I couldn’t hear you clearly.”
“I said, we’re together!” Amanda enunciated each word clearly.
“Sorry, I still didn’t get you...”
“I said, we’re together!” Amanda suddenly raised her voice.
The first-class cabin fell into silence.
Neil turned his gaze over. Although he only caught a glimpse of her side profile, his eyes spoke of endless gentleness.
Realizing what had happened, Amanda covered her face and lowered her head out of horror.
How embarrassing.
She could have sunk through the floor.
Perking up the corner of her lips, Lyla watched on.
“It’s all your fault...” Amanda murmured while glancing around. What an awkward sight.
Lyla leaned in and spoke against her ear. “Don’t you think that boldly admitting to your feelings is sort of liberating?”
“No... It’s beyond embarrassing,” Amanda covered her face and replied.
Lyla chuckled. “Neil had a hard time wooing you. It’s nothing for you to admit it like this.”
“Lyla!” Enraged, Amanda grabbed onto her. Her tone was helpless yet coy.
“Alright, alright, alright. It’s fine. Just pretend I said nothing.”
“People will think I’m crazy and unreserved.”
“Trust me, they will think that you’re a very courageous young lady.”
“Would they?”
“Definitely.”
Amanda glanced around before managing to convince herself. “That’s true. They have no idea what I’m talking about or what I mean.”
“Yes.”
Bearing that in mind, Amanda straightened up her clothes and sat upright.
Even though she was blushing and a little self-conscious, Amanda told herself that no one knew much about the conversation and even if they did, it was not as though they would know who she was talking about.
Amanda was able to relax at that thought.
She drew a deep breath.
Observing her in a corner, Lyla lifted the corner of her lips “Neil is a reliable man with principles. I believe that he won’t let you down.”
Amanda turned to her. “Lyla, would you look down at me?”
“Look down at you? Why?”
“I was very hung up on refusing Neil when he was wooing me. I guess you could say that I found him repulsive, but now... Don’t you think that I went overboard?” Amanda cautiously posed the question.
The matter still did not sit well with her.
Hearing this, Lyla fell into thought. “You should ask yourself about this. What are you going to do? Leave him if I think that you went overboard?”
“Of course not.” Without any doubt, Amanda gave a straight answer.
“There you have it. Other people will have their own opinion, but the relationship belongs to you.
“The opinion of others is only the surface while what you feel is the truest form to you,” Lyla looked into her eyes and replied.
