Chapter 811 Sebastian Is Not Coming Back

Vanessa was tense the entire time. The clerk stood by the side while Tamara silently helped Vanessa into the wedding dress. After a while, the clerk seemed to have received something on her Bluetooth earphone and excused herself. Vanessa and Tamara were the only two left in the dressing room. The huge mirror inside reflected the two women’s emotions clearly. “You look good in this dress, Vanessa.” Tamara gave Vanessa a once-over and exclaimed. Vanessa gritted her teeth. “What are you plotting?” Tamara smirked, “Can’t you see? I’m helping you out.” Vanessa muttered indifferently, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Tamara went to zip up the back of the dress. She whispered into Vanessa’s ears, “You like James. I’m just giving you the push you needed.” Panic flashed through Vanessa’s eyes, and she felt like Tamara had just revealed her deepest darkest secret to the world. “Miss Moore, Mr. Gladwell brought you here so that YOU can try on the dress. Yet you’re putting me in the dress instead. I will not be held responsible if Mr. Gladwell grows angry at this.” Tamara smiled faintly. “Go ahead. I don’t mind. Just put all the blame on me.” Tamara would do anything as long as it meant postponing the wedding. She also didn’t want to put on a wedding dress for James. The only person she would put a wedding dress on for was Sebastian. Vanessa noticed Tamara’s easy-going shrug. She could guess why Tamara was doing this. It was all for her lover, Sebastian. Vanessa pursed her lips and suddenly piped up, “Sebastian is not coming back.” Tamara was buttoning up the buttons when she heard this. She glanced at Vanessa. “What did you say?” The clerk came back again. “That’s not how you button it, Miss Moore. You should do it this way. Here, I’ll do it instead,” said the clerk as she walked closer. Tamara backed away, but her eyes never left Vanessa. Vanessa, on the other hand, did not explain herself. Tamara clenched and unclenched her hands again. Her hatred for James grew even stronger. Tamara used to live an unlucky life. She was scorned and mocked for being mute, but she never hated anyone who wronged her. It wasn’t until she met Sebastian that she learned what love meant. She had now seen how intense and blistering the flames of hatred could be. Tamara closed her eyes and pushed down her bubbling emotions. The most important thing right now was to make sure James didn’t do anything crazy. “It’s done,” chirped the clerk. Tamara was pulled out from her train of thought. Vanessa was done putting on the dress. The dress was undeniably stunning, with evident signs of devoted craftsmanship. However, the love infused in it was twisted and unhealthy, dominated by possessiveness rather than genuine affection. It only served to incite fear and hatred. Tamara smiled, “You look good.” Vanessa glanced at her before slowly turning around. The clerk grinned at Vanessa. “Are you ready?” Vanessa felt her heart pounding. She gripped the dress and tried secretly wiping the sweat from her palm. Would James be amazed by how she looked in the wedding dress? Vanessa swallowed hard in anticipation. The clerk opened the dressing room door. They chirped up, “Mr. Gladwell, we’re done over here.” James was sitting on the couch and flipping through a magazine. He raised his head when he heard the announcement. But when he saw that it was Vanessa in the wedding dress, his face fell. “Who gave you the right to put on the wedding dress?” James’ voice was as cold as ice. If looks could kill, Vanessa would be dead by now. After all the time they spent together, Vanessa had never seen James this pissed. Her face paled. “I…” stuttered Vanessa. Tamara chose this time to speak up. “Sorry. I just realized I’m on my period. It would be a hassle to put on the wedding dress. I mean, what if I stained the dress? Since Vanessa has a similar build to me, I think I will be able to wear it if she can too.”
