Chapter 822 Sorry
Tamara left the ward and headed straight for the lab. Just when she exited the lift, she saw two men lying on the floor with traces of blood around them.
George and a few other doctors surrounded them and attempted to treat them.
“Miss Moore…” One of the men saw Tamara and struggled to reach her. “We brought the herbs back.”
Tamara rushed over. She saw her men were bleeding out and frowned, “Where are you hurt?”
The bodyguard reached out to hand a small box to Tamara with shaky hands. “Here…are the herbs…”
The bodyguard fainted right after.
Tamara immediately turned to the doctor. “Quick! Send them to the emergency room!”
The doctor had already called for someone to assist them.
Tamara stared at the box. Wordlessly, she opened it up and saw there were some herbs inside. She gave it to George. “Here are the herbs, Master.”
George took the box and glanced inside before nodding. “It’s the right one.”
Tamara couldn’t hide her excitement. “With this herb, does that mean we could…”
“Yes. I’ll be going back to my experiment. I’ll come out when I’ve prepared the antidote.” George brought the herb into the lab.
Tamara stared at the tightly shut doors. Her heart started racing.
Even though they got the herbs, they couldn’t be sure if they could develop an antidote. Tamara hoped they would succeed.
Only then would she be free of James, and her family would be saved as well. Then, she could finally set out to Nammu Bay to find Sebastian.
She wondered how Sebastian was faring.
Tamara pulled out her phone and went through her text. She clicked on a number and typed, “I miss you, Sebastian.”
…
Just then, a doctor walked over. “Miss Moore, the two men are in critical condition. Where are their family members? I need them to sign some documents.”
Tamara frowned. “You have to save them. Money is not an issue.”
The doctor nodded. “But we still need their family’s permission.”
“I will contact their family,” nodded Tamara. She pulled out her phone and searched for her men’s family contacts.
One of the men was a local, while the other was a foreigner.
Tamara sent for the foreign family. The local ones would be here by noon.
Outside the operating room.
A girl looked at Tamara with reddened eyes. “Will my brother be okay?”
Tamara comforted her, “He will be fine. The doctors are doing the best they can.”
The girl sobbed. She gritted her teeth. “It’s all because of you. My brother wouldn’t have gotten hurt if it weren’t for you.”
Tamara paused. She pursed her lips but said nothing.
She understood where the girl was coming from.
After all, the men got hurt because of her.
Tamara stood beside the girl silently.
When she looked into the man’s background, she discovered his name was Rico and that he had only one surviving family member—his sister Roxy.
Roxy was hostile toward Tamara. She didn’t bother hiding her hatred for Tamara.
Tamara furrowed her brows at Roxy. “Don’t you know what job your brother has?”
Roxy ignored Tamara and stared at the operating room with puffy eyes.
After an hour and a half, the other man’s family arrived. It was an old woman.
The old lady looked at Tamara shakily. “How’s my grandson doing?”
Tamara comforted gently, “He’s hurt. The doctors are trying their best to save him. Believe me. He’ll be fine.”
Suddenly, the door opened, and a doctor walked out. They took off their mask. “I’m sorry, Miss Moore. We tried our best, but we only managed to save one. The other…”
