They spent the whole day in the amusement park. Danish and Nini never stopped running around, laughing, pointing at things, and dragging Lily and Noah from one ride to another. By late afternoon, Lily was tired but happy. Watching Danish smile so much always made her heart feel full, even if she had her own worries pushing at the back of her mind. After they finished the last snack and took a few photos, they finally walked toward the parking area. The sun was lowering, warm and golden, and Lily held Danish’s hand while he talked non-stop about the pirate ship ride. Then suddenly Danish stopped talking. His eyes widened. He gasped loudly. “Dad!” Before Lily even reacted, Danish dropped her hand and ran straight ahead. Lily froze for a second. She followed his gaze. David stood near the entrance, hands in his pockets, watching them with a calm face. Danish ran straight into his arms. David bent down and lifted him easily. Danish laughed like he just found the best surprise in the world.
