Chapter 29
In that instant, the van and the Cullinan passed each other head-on.
They were so close—only separated by a single pane of glass!
Heather slammed her bound hands against the window with all her strength!
"Micah! Micah! Micah Truman!" she screamed as hard as she could, muffled by the gag.
Inside the Cullinan, Micah's gaze drifted casually to the van outside.
But through the dark, tinted window of the van, he couldn't see a thing.
The next second, Micah frowned slightly and raised the window.
"Jonathan, speed up," he ordered.
"Yes, sir! At this speed, we'll definitely make the flight!"
And just like that, they missed each other.
…
Inside the van, Rex slapped Heather viciously across the face. She crashed sideways, her head slamming hard into the car door. Blood immediately streamed down.
Her heart sank to rock bottom.
"Behave yourself!" Rex pulled out a dagger and pressed it tightly against her cheek.
With a snarl, he added, "Move again, and I'll carve up your face!"
