**Adele’s POV**
The night wind was merciless, carrying with it the frost and dew clinging to treetops. It lashed against the unlucky travelers below, soaking their clothes and chilling their bones. But there was no arguing with the wind. It moved with indifference, leaving one only to curse quietly and carry on, shivering in the dampness.
I watched this pitiful struggle for a moment before my gaze returned to the vast, quiet night sky. The moon hung high above, serene and unbothered by the chaos below.
I didn’t know exactly where I was. The man who had taken me here tried to speak to me earlier, his voice loud and persistent. But I had no interest in his words. Instead, I turned a blind eye to his attempts at conversation, ignoring him completely. This tactic had served me well in the past.
