Morning light streamed through the hotel’s floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a warm gold across the carpet. I woke slowly in Devon’s arms, the familiar scent of cedar and morning sun surrounding me. His arm rested loosely around my waist, his palm warm against my stomach. I shifted slightly, and he stirred at once, his green eyes soft in the early light.
