Chapter 1055 Let’s Have Another Child

The faint glow of the mobile phone screen illuminated Joseph's face, casting a soft light over him. He gripped his pen tightly and carefully calculated the safe path on the paper. Chloe held up the phone, now being used as a flashlight, trying to provide him with enough light. She held her breath to minimize her presence and not disturb him. Using the phone's flashlight feature consumed a lot of the phone’s battery, and after about half an hour, her phone battery level had dwindled to around 10%. Chloe's palms were slippery with cold sweat as she debated whether to speak up and tell Joseph. However, she hesitated so as not to disturb him. A moment later, Joseph said, "I've figured it out." Chloe was surprised and shocked. "That was fast. You're amazing!" She could not deny that some people were favored by the heavens. They had brains and brawns. She was confident that Jasper would have no problems with Math in the future. Joseph nodded. "But I'm not sure it's 100% accurate." Chloe's heart skipped a beat, but she kept cool and said, "It's okay. I believe in our luck." Joseph looked at her, his gaze pausing on her face for a few seconds. He too looked calm, but his voice carried a hint of nervousness. "Do you regret coming with me today?" "What? Of course not," Chloe replied. Upon waking up after the hypnosis wore off, Joseph was the first person Chloe saw. They had a child together, but six years of acquaintance followed by five years of separation had brought about numerous misunderstandings. While he had his shortcomings, he also demonstrated a genuine commitment to change, so she was willing to trust him again. Joseph smiled and gazed at her lovingly. Bending down, he picked Chloe up and planted a kiss on her cheek. Chloe blushed and snarled, “Can you be more serious right now?" "Hold on tight. We're getting out of here." Joseph assumed a stern expression and coldly stared at the path ahead. He was much calmer now. He had designed this trap, and even though the final one involved computer-generated calculations, it originated from his concept. As he confidently stepped onto the first square, their surroundings remained completely silent. Joseph locked eyes with Chloe and smiled. Chloe looked at him and encouraged, "See? I told you luck is on our side. Let's proceed slowly." Her breath tickled his neck as she spoke and created a tingling sensation that spread throughout his body. As Joseph took the next step, he said, "Once we're out of this, let's have another child." "What?" Chloe was stunned. "Are you sure now is the time to discuss having a second child?" Joseph innocently asked, "So when would be a more suitable time to discuss this?" "After we get out of here at least," Chloe replied. As she said this, a faint light entered their vision, and Joseph chuckled. "We're out." Chloe looked up and was dumbfounded. The path ahead led straight to the inner part of Imperium, and they were about fifty meters away from the weapons room. She realized that Joseph's sudden mention of having a second child was to divert her attention and keep her from worrying too much. * They picked up their pace, found a signal flare, and launched it. The sound of the flare caused a shiver to run down Otto's spine.
