Chapter 1057 A Pair of Lovebirds in Hell

Chloe froze when she saw Xavia lunge toward her. As she was caught off guard, Xavia attempted to slash her in the chest. Chloe staggered backward, barely avoiding the attack. "Bitch, you're dead," Xavia hissed, her menacing smile sending a chill down Chloe’s spine. Chloe tightened her grip on the vase, her mind racing for a solution. Calling Joseph for help was out of the option. He was too far away and he might get distracted. The situation on his end was probably not much better. Before Xavia could strike again, Chloe blurted out with a resolute expression, "I'll give you Joseph, just don't kill me!" Xavia froze. After a moment, she laughed so hard that her large belly trembled. "You have it all wrong. I've long moved on from Joseph." She did not believe Chloe had the ability to persuade Joseph, and she certainly did not believe that Chloe would give Joseph to her. "No, you've loved Joseph for so many years. You can't just give up," Chloe said, "You're so pretty, and you're a violinist! Committing murder is a grave offense. You shouldn't jeopardize your future because of me!" Xavia scoffed. "I can't believe you're willing to give up on the man who loves you so much just to stay alive." "Nothing’s more important than my own life. Even the most devoted of couples will prioritize their own survival when faced with a life-threatening situation." "Hah, looks like you don't love Joseph that much after all. Bethany was so much better than you. Even in her death throes, she dreamt of marrying Joseph." Chloe was stunned. "Bethany’s dead?" "As a log," Xavia replied, her eyes gleaming with a manic light. "But don't worry. You'll be dead too soon." "How did she die? Did you do it?" Chloe knew Vince would be devastated when he learned of this. Her heart ached as she imagined the heart-wrenching scene of the towering two-meter giant shedding tears over the loss of someone he cared about. Xavia's patience grew thin. She slowly approached Chloe and said, "If you're so curious about it, go down to hell and ask Bethany herself!” Chloe had anticipated this and swiftly dove to the opposite side of the table, using it as a barrier. Xavia brandished the dagger and chased after her. Chloe swiftly dodged Xavia's attacks and maintained a safe distance from her. Xavia, being heavily pregnant, was sluggish and failed to catch Chloe. Growing impatient, Xavia overturned the table. The items on the table crashed to the floor, and Chloe now found herself cornered at the door. Seeing there was nowhere to run, her heart raced with panic. She knew she could not protect herself from Xavia's knife with just a small vase. Beads of cold sweat formed on her forehead as she retreated to the corner of the room. A victorious smile appeared on Xavia's face. She lifted the dagger and thrust it toward Chloe's head. Suddenly, Chloe looked behind Xavia and shouted happily, "Joseph!" Xavia's face paled but she quickly composed herself. She grinned maniacally and said, "You aren’t fooling me. Joseph is in a lot of trouble right now. He might even be dead already. I'll send you on your way to join him. You two can be lovebirds down in hell!"
