Chapter 1059 Amputation
Zoelle sensed Chloe's lingering distrust, but she chose not to push the matter. Before leaving, she dragged Xavia to a nearby room and tied her up with a rope to prevent her from causing trouble if she woke up.
Not long after, Zoelle carried Vince into the room. Chloe rushed forward, and together, they gently laid him on the bed. Vince's clothes were soaked in blood. When he entered the room, it was instantly engulfed by a strong metallic scent.
Chloe turned pale. "How's Joseph? What happened to him?"
Zoelle opened her medical kit and put an oxygen mask on Vince. She sighed in relief, grateful for the almost complete medical facilities in Imperium.
"Mr. Joseph sustained some injuries, but they're not severe. Cough, cough, cough… Don't worry." Vince struggled to open his eyes and looked at Chloe apologetically. "I've failed Mr. Joseph. I failed to protect Imperium."
"Joseph is only lightly injured. But this one here… If I hadn't arrived in time, he would probably bleed out and die," Zoelle said impatiently, a great contrast to her gentle movements.
Vince had a knife wound across his stomach, courtesy of Otto, and he also shielded Joseph, sustaining another stab wound on the back. Along with other scattered minor injuries, Vince looked pretty miserable now. His dark skin was quickly losing its vibrancy. He looked so ashen as if he might pass away at any moment.
Chloe's tightly knit brow relaxed, focusing on his bleeding abdomen. "I'll drive you guys to the hospital.
There must be many injured people, and Zoelle could not attend to all of them alone.
"No! I can't give Mr. Joseph any more trouble!" Vince protested.
The police would be called if they went to the hospital. Joseph could handle it, but Vince did not want to cause further trouble.
"Your life is more important," Chloe said with a frown.
Zoelle looked up and interjected, "Let's go. There are many injured people outside. I can't treat so many people alone."
Joseph then pushed open the door and entered the room. There was blood on his face and a nasty wound on his arm. His hair was disheveled, his expression stern, and his eyes red around the rims. He looked just like a demon who had just crawled out of hell.
A sharp pain pierced Chloe's heart, and she started sobbing. "Is everything okay out there? I'll take you to the hospital right now."
Joseph cupped her cheek and said gently, "Otto escaped, and our people are seriously injured."
"Everything’s fine as long as you're safe. Let's not talk about this for now." Chloe wiped away her tears. "Let's go to the hospital first."

Harold nearly stumbled in his haste to reach the hospital.
Chloe quickly went to support him. "Be careful, Grandpa."
"Where's Joseph?"
"He's in surgery," Chloe replied.
A doctor came out of the operating room, his expression solemn as he presented a document to Chloe. "The patient suffered a severe arm injury and may need an amputation. Please prepare yourselves.”
"What?" Chloe was stunned. Her mind buzzed, and she quickly called Zoelle. "You told me Joseph only suffered some minor injuries."
There was a moment of silence from the other end before Zoelle replied, "The situation was pretty chaotic at the time, and I didn't get a close look. I asked him about it, but he may have hidden the seriousness from me to prevent you from worrying."
