Haley's POV:
That night, the three of us got ready to go to Logan’s father’s place.
I stood in front of the mirror, smoothing down my dress for the third time. It wasn’t too formal, but it was elegant enough for a dinner with his father. My hands were slightly cold, and I wasn’t sure if it was because of the air in the room or because of the nerves twisting in my stomach.
Logan walked in, fixing his cufflinks. He looked calm, but his eyes softened when they met mine.
“You’re overthinking,” he said, walking over to me.
“I’m not,” I murmured, even though I clearly was.
"Don't worry,” he said, leaning down to kiss my forehead. “Besides, I’ll be right by your side. The whole night.”
That promise loosened something in my chest. “You’d better be,” I teased lightly.
“I mean it,” he said seriously. “We’re doing this together.”
