Chapter 182 You Have a First Love, so Why Can't I?
"I want to get married to him? That's pure nonsense. Are you just jealous, or are you trying to pin a label on me to make yourself feel better?"
Pinning labels? Yvette was the one who did it, making it blatantly clear to me that she was being a bitch. I rolled my eyes, at a loss for words, and sneered.
"Randall told me that himself. Your friend was present as well. If you don't believe me, you can ask your friend about it. Besides, even if you didn't say you wanted to marry him, your actions were enough for him to dream. Which lady would buy a house for a man for no reason?"
Yvette pursed her lips and couldn't say a word. I thought that the cat got her tongue. I snorted and continued, "What's wrong? Did I hit the spot? Have nothing to say?
"Let me add something else. It hasn't been long since our divorce. Only a few people close to us know about it, but somehow, Randall knows about it. Who else leaked it to him if not you?
"Yvette, you don't need to put up an act in front of me. We have already gotten a divorce. We can go our separate ways. If you want to pursue him, go ahead. I won't stop you.
"I'll stop here today. When you go back, please deal with Randall. Tell him to stop showing up in front of me. He's annoying. The same goes for you. If you want to stand up for him and trouble me…"
My tone changed. With a fake smile, I said, "You can imagine the consequences yourself."
Then, I turned to leave. Yvette chased after me hurriedly with a heavy expression. "Randall is indeed different to me, but I didn't tell him about our divorce. I'll look into this matter."
I picked a few items for Nancy. Through the corner of my eye, I saw that Yvette was still explaining to me with a strange expression.
What was wrong with her today? Was she afraid that I misunderstood her wanting to get married to Randall? Was that why she kept explaining to me?
"What I said just now is to make you and Randall stay away from me. It isn't to listen to your explanation. It isn't important to me. So what if I got it? Divorce isn't an embarrassing matter. Besides, you like him. Even if you don't get married now, you'll get married sooner or later."
Perhaps her fate with Randall was like her previous life. Even if I didn't intervene, they would only get married two or three years later. I wonder if it was due to my cold attitude or resolute tone, but Yvette's expression became ghastly.
"Randall's identity is indeed unique. He's someone I've been sponsoring and promised to look after. If he said anything out of line yesterday, please don't take it to heart. I don't have those kinds of feelings for him. There's nothing romantic between us.
"My divorce has nothing to do with him. I won't get married to him. Owen, this is the last time I'll explain our relationship to you. Remember this."
Yvette glared at me. It was clear that her patience had been exhausted. She threatened, "Now that I have explained everything to you, unblock me. If you dare to block me again, I…"
I was at a loss for words. She kept explaining the situation to me, so I wondered why she seemed different today. It turned out that she misunderstood that I blocked her because of Randall.
She was looking into it too much. I blocked her only because I found her to be an eyesore. It had nothing to do with other people. Besides, her explanation was that Randall was someone she needed to take care of and that she wouldn't get married to him. However, it was nonsense.
Both of them were in a relationship in their previous life. She even tortured me for him. I remembered everything that happened clearly.
I placed the carefully selected pieces on the counter and paid for them before sending Peter a message and asking him to pick them up. After taking care of all that, I turned to look at Yvette in front of me, my gaze full of defiance.
"What's wrong with blocking my ex-wife after the divorce? What can you do if I don't unblock you? Are you going to hit me? You can give it a try."
Yvette narrowed her eyes and stared at me without saying anything. I snorted and said, "Listen up. You're a woman I don't want anymore. Stop annoying me."
After that, I arrogantly bumped her shoulder and grabbed my suitcase from the front desk before turning to leave without looking back.
I knew that Yvette wouldn't go after me and shout at me. She wouldn't go overboard. No matter how angry she got, she wouldn't easily resort to physical confrontation.
I had seen her at her craziest once in my previous life, and even then, all she did was throw a tantrum in the study and curse me out a couple of times in frustration.
Now that I had already gotten a divorce from Yvette, we no longer had the responsibilities of a married couple. So, she couldn't control me anymore, let alone do anything to me.
I dragged my suitcase and walked out of the exhibition hall. Since it was still early, it was crowded in the exhibition hall and only a small number of people left.
Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, someone came up to me. I took a glance and realized it was Yvette. I was instantly enraged. I glared at her and roared, "Yvette, what on earth do you want? Why are you following me everywhere?"
Could she stop this? When I loved her and needed her, she was never there. Now that I didn't want her anymore, she stuck to me stubbornly.
Her expression was cold as she smirked. "There's only one exit. If you can use it, why can't I? Did you book the entire place?"
I was speechless. I gritted my teeth. I was so fierce toward just now, but now, it felt like I made a fool of myself. It was as if I was the one overthinking everything.
Nonetheless, reality proved otherwise. Yvette casually asked, "Are you going to meet up with Lila?"
Her question almost made me laugh out loud, but I held it in. The smile on my face carried a hint of irritation, which I quickly suppressed.
I responded nonchalantly, "I'm going to meet up with Lila. You're allowed to have a first love, so why can't I have one too?"
