Chapter 126: End of Cooperation
Luna looked at Daniel with disbelief, as if she didn't know him.
"Daniel, you should understand that no matter what, we won't end up together," Luna reminded him. "Being with me is mutually beneficial."
Daniel knew this very well, and he sighed, "But love is pure, it doesn't involve any benefits."
Luna couldn't believe these words came from Daniel.
She thought there would be a qualitative leap in their relationship today. She thought Daniel would still be the carefree guy who wouldn't get back with his ex.
But it turns out they didn't get back together because he didn't love her.
"Do you know how cruel it is to tell me directly that you like other women when you know how I feel about you?" Luna couldn't help but speak, her voice trembling with tears.
Daniel remained indifferent, "I'm sorry for hurting you, but I think it's even more unfair to deceive you and give you false hope."
Luna had nothing to say. She took a step back, waving her hand at Daniel. "Go, our cooperation ends here."
She thought she could tolerate Daniel having feelings for other women, but when she heard him openly declare his love for another woman in front of her, she realized she couldn't bear it.
It hurt even more.
Luna felt it was better to stay away from this man, or she would eventually become mentally ill from loving him without getting anything in return.
"Go find her now and explain our relationship to her, maybe there's still time," Luna kindly reminded him. "Based on a woman's intuition, I could tell at the bar today that she still cares about you."
After saying this, Luna smiled and turned around, walking into her own gate without looking back.
Daniel almost didn't hesitate for a second, getting into his car and rushing to the bar.
Luckily, he arrived in time to find Katrina still there.
But she was already lying on the bar, her face flushed from drinking.
Elaine was beside her, trying to persuade Katrina to stop drinking, but Katrina obviously couldn't hear her anymore.
Elaine felt sorry for Katrina in this state, and seeing Daniel arrive, she couldn't help but look at him with displeasure.
After all, it was because of him that Katrina ended up like this.
"If you can't firmly choose Katrina, then don't come here to bother her again," Elaine glanced at Daniel and said to him.
Daniel looked at Katrina, who was lying on the table, with a heartache, and assured Elaine, "I can firmly choose her."
"Firmly? Seems quite reluctant," as if they were forcing him.
"I love Katrina, and I will firmly choose her. As for my fiancée, that's just a misunderstanding, I'll clarify it with the media tomorrow," Daniel explained to Elaine.
Hearing Daniel's firm words, Elaine's heart wavered a bit.
It seemed that he was really serious about Katrina, he was different from Wesley after all.
If Wesley could have said such words back then, they wouldn't have ended up like this today.
After today's events, Elaine already knew Katrina's feelings, and now hearing Daniel's assurance, she wanted to help Katrina once again.
"You take her home," Elaine said to Daniel.
"If she's willing to go with you," she added after looking at Katrina.
Daniel felt a little discouraged, shaking his head, "She won't go with me, she said she doesn't like me anymore."
"So even if she doesn't like you anymore, will you still firmly choose her?" Elaine asked.
Daniel's expression was sad for a moment, then he affirmed Elaine's words, "Yes, I will still choose her."
Hearing Daniel's assurance, Elaine felt a little relieved. She stood up and walked to Daniel's side, patting his shoulder, then whispered in his ear, "She doesn't dislike you, she's upset because she saw you entangled with other women."
Daniel's eyes brightened, asking Elaine, "Are you serious?"
Elaine picked up her phone and bag, telling Daniel, "I'm leaving her to you. I hope you won't let me down. I'm leaving now."
Daniel hurriedly thanked Elaine's departing figure.
At this point, Katrina was already drunk, she didn't even notice when Elaine left.
"Katrina, stop drinking, let's go home," Daniel approached Katrina.
"Elaine, my darling, let me drink a little longer," Katrina slurred.
Daniel couldn't help but ask when he heard Elaine's words, "Why are you drinking so much? Is it because of me?"
Even though she was drunk, Katrina insisted, "Only idiots drink because of that jerk. Only those ignorant rich girls would fancy him."
Daniel: .....
Katrina continued, "Elaine, I really hate her."
Daniel looked at Katrina's flushed face and found her cute. He hugged her gently, trying to wipe away her tears, "My dear, no matter what your background is, I love you."
Katrina didn't say anything, tired from crying, she fell asleep directly.
Daniel picked her up and carried her to his car, handling her with care as if she were a precious treasure.
