The three of them chatted and laughed as they walked past Loid and went upstairs. Slowly, Loid asked, "You beat me, and that's it, Grandpa?" "What? Are you thinking of fighting back?" Arthur glared at him. "It's good that you were sensible enough not to cheat. I beat you as a reminder to stay on your best behavior. You'd better not cheat, or I'll give you an even worse beating next time." Loid was speechless. Didn't that mean he had been beaten for nothing? Arthur ignored him and happily went upstairs while carrying the two kids. As they were on their way up, Tilly suddenly slipped out of Arthur's embrace and walked over to Lily. "Mommy, someone told you to prepare for our funerals today." Before Lily could get a word out, Loid's expression darkened. "Who was it?" "I don't know. It was an annoying old man and woman. The old woman was already taken to the police station, though. That old man told us to tell you to prepare for our funerals," Tilly said, earnestly conveying Hank's words. Loid's expression was terrifyingly cold. How dare anyone lay a finger on his children? That man must have gotten tired of living. In that case, Loid would send him to the afterlife. He took his phone out and called Daniel. "Help me look into—" Before he could finish, Arthur came downstairs. "Don't bother. It was Yvette and her husband, who's a member of the underground forces." "Yvette?" Loid frowned. It had been five years since he last saw her. Why did she come back and immediately go after his children? Lily narrowed her eyes as well. When had the members of the underground forces gotten arrogant enough to bully children? "I have something to tell you, Mommy," Toby said. "We met a man whose mother is sick. He hired a miracle doctor to treat her, and he said the miracle doctor is charging him three million dollars." Initially, Toby wasn't planning on telling Lily about it. He could deal with it on his own, after all. However, Lily had said before that she used to teach medical students. The reason why she did it was so that everyone could cure diseases and save lives, not so that people could make money through medicine. Even though her consultation fees were pretty high at the time, she only ever charged those exorbitant prices to rich people with terrible personalities. She wouldn't let go of anyone who used medicine for their personal gain. As expected, her expression grew stormy when she heard that. All it took was five years of her being inactive for the underground forces and the medical industry to devolve into chaos. It seemed that there were more people to be dealt with after Mr. Black. Loid could tell she was quite angry. He grabbed her hand and said, "Leave this to me. I guess staying out of things for five years has made people forget about my existence." Lily thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Okay." There was still some time before the lunar eclipse. If the underground forces were after her children, she would have to deal with the problem. However, she couldn't step in as Lily right then, so it was better for Loid to handle it. The medical field, on the other hand… Lily looked at Toby with her eyes narrowed. "Who is this person you want to treat?" At first, she was impressed by Tilly's talent for medicine and was planning to teach her, but Tilly was too hyperactive. She wasn't interested in medicine anyway. Instead, she was more fascinated by poison. Toby, on the other hand, was very fond of medicine. He worked hard on it and had already learned everything Lily taught him.
