Chapter 33 I Have a Girlfriend
“Cough, cough…” After Mark heard Gretel’s words, his mouth twitched, and he was stunned.
How could she pick up a father so casually from the street?
“What happened, Mister? Are you choking?” Gretel immediately went over and used her little hand to hit Mark’s back. She did not realize that he was coughing because of her words.
Mark suddenly felt touched.
What a thoughtful and lovable girl.
“Where’s your daddy?” Mark raised his eyebrows.
“I don’t have a daddy. I grew up with my mommy,” Gretel said softly with her head down. “My mommy works very hard.”
Mark kept quiet. He seemed to be thinking about something.
However, Gretel’s expression changed, and she said, “Anyway, you don’t have a daughter, and I don’t have a daddy. You’re lucky to get a daughter without doing anything.”
Gretel was still a child, so her mood became better instantly. She wondered if it would be fun to have identical pairs of adults and children at home. She looked exactly like her mother while her brother, Hansel, looked exactly like the handsome mister in front of her. Would it be cool if they went out together?
“Is that so?” Mark smiled slightly. “If your mommy finds out that you’ve casually picked up a daddy outside, she’d be angry, wouldn’t she?”
Gretel immediately visualized it and nodded. “I really can’t imagine the scene…”
Mark laughed.
“But my mommy is really beautiful!”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes!” Gretel did not forget to advertise Lyla. “She is five-foot-five, and she has an ideal figure. Most importantly, she’s a fair and beautiful woman who is highly educated. She also has high IQ and EQ. One would say that she is the perfect woman. Whoever marries her is lucky!” Gretel declared.
Mark raised his eyebrows. “Really?” She even knew what an ideal figure was.
“Of course. My mommy has countless pursuers, but…The only bad thing about her is that she is too rational, which is why she can’t get married,” Gretel added.
Mark laughed again.
“But you can try, Mister. Maybe you can be my daddy,” Gretel said.
Mark smiled sophisticatedly. His delicate features made him appear restrained and reliable.
“I have a girlfriend.”
“That’s too bad.” Gretel thought that it was a pity, and she did not hide her disappointment.
“All right, hurry up and eat,” Mark urged.
“Okay.” Gretel nodded and ate in a refined manner. As Mark looked at her, thoughts of wanting to know her mother, whom she had been talking about, came to him. He wondered what kind of woman could raise such a daughter.
Gretel was very cute and thoughtful.
The enjoyable lunchtime flashed by because of the cute little girl.
“How’s everything? Are you full?” Mark softly asked.
Gretel nodded and wiped her mouth gracefully. “I’m done eating.”
“Let’s go then.”
Gretel nodded and left the restaurant with Mark.
“Handsome mister, thanks for the meal!” Gretel said sweetly.
Mark laughed indifferently. “You’re welcome. I need to eat as well, anyway.”
Gretel smiled. Her impression of Mark could not help but become better.
The car traveled along the road and quickly reached Bard’s Street.
“Have you decided? Do you want me to walk you up? Mark asked.
“There’s no need for that! Thank you, Mister!” Gretel politely declined.
After Gretel got out of the car, Mark did as well.
He picked up the mermaid toy from the back seat and gave it to Gretel.
Gretel took the toy and kissed it. Then, she held it in her arms.
Mark was relieved when he saw Gretel caress the toy with admiration.
“Oh, Handsome mister, can you give me your phone number? So that I can call you when I miss you!” Gretel asked as she looked at him innocently with the mermaid toy in her arms.
Mark could not hold back his laughter. He gave her his phone number without hesitation.
Gretel memorized his phone number after he uttered it once.
“Okay, I’ve memorized it.” Gretel nodded. “Goodbye, Handsome mister.”
“All right. Goodbye.” Mark watched Gretel walk in as he stood there with a smile. He only left when she was out of his sight.
