Amelia was convinced that her ears were playing tricks on her. She couldn't believe the absurd declaration that had just left Matthew's lips. "Bring me home? My home is here, Mr. Sterling. We have nothing to do with each other anymore, so why are you talking about bringing me home?" Seeing how clearly Amelia was drawing a line between them, Matthew couldn't hold himself back anymore. He stepped forward and jabbed a finger in Xavier's direction. "Is it because of him?" he demanded angrily. "You're going to betray me because of a boy toy like him? Can he even give you the things that I can give you?" Amelia frowned at his offensive words. She exhaled deeply and was about to make a retort when she stopped to consider his condition. At the end of the day, Matthew was sick. His mental illness led the people around to orbit him, treating him like a precious treasure that could shatter at any moment.
